Last year in May, I embarked on another trip to Malta — one that combined business with just the right amount of leisure. What started as a work conference turned into a mini-adventure, complete with great food, including a visit to one Michelin restaurant, a bit of shopping, and a taste of the island’s charm.

Where We Stayed: Hyatt Regency Malta
The purpose for our trip was to attend an iGaming conference – CasinoBeats Summit which was being held at the InterContinental Malta, just a short walk from our hotel – Hyatt Regency Malta in St. Julian’s, one of the island’s most vibrant areas.
The hotel was what we all needed – comfy rooms, rooftop swimming pool and lounge area and the best highlight was the restaurant downstairs. Whether it was breakfast, a casual dinner, or an evening drink, Seed set the bar high from the beginning of our trip.
The Conference: InterContinental Malta

Between sessions, networking, and workshops, the vibe was dynamic and inspiring. Being close to everything meant we could slip back to our rooms easily when we needed a break. During breaks, we discussed the fabulous food we enjoyed at the Michelin restaurant.
Quick Eats and Shopping Sprees
After a long day packed with talks and meetings, sometimes simple comfort food wins.
One evening, our group found ourselves grabbing a casual dinner at McDonald’s — sometimes nothing beats a familiar bite after a busy day!
We also explored the local shopping center, perfect for some spontaneous browsing and souvenir hunting. Amidst quick eats, the Michelin restaurant experience stood out remarkably.
Also, the hotel’s restaurant – Seed Malta, served beautifully presented dishes that could easily compete with any fine dining spot.
Exploring Valletta: A Taste of Michelin
No trip to Malta would be complete without visiting its stunning capital, Valletta.
On our second day, we took time to stroll through the historic streets, soaking in the Mediterranean vibe and enjoy a wonderful dinner with a business partner at Grain Street, a Michelin-starred restaurant renowned for its creative dishes and intimate atmosphere. Dining at such a renowned Michelin restaurant was a highlight of our trip.

Final Thoughts
Malta was a perfect backdrop for a trip that blended business and relaxation.
Staying at a great hotel, eating fantastic food, including meals from a Michelin restaurant, and squeezing in some sightseeing made the experience truly special.
