Took a little longer to write about the final part of our Amalfi trip but here it is, including our wonderful experiences in Naples.
We arrived on Sunday at our booking – Ecumano Space in the center of this city, Naples, after dropping off our rented car. The room was by far the biggest out of all the places we stayed at. The view was quite nice as well.
The weather was still hot even though it was the last week of September. So we headed out after we rested a bit.
After cruising through Naples a bit, we ate the best pizza at Pizzeria D’Angeli and the best sfogliatella at La Sfogliatella Mary.

The trip and climb towards Castle Sant Elmo was very demanding but the view was worth it.
It’s also very relaxing and atmospheric to walk alongside the coast towards Castle Nuovo. Very hard to describe, you will understand the feeling when you will try it, especially when the sun is setting in Naples.
One interesting thing about Naples is that in the historic center, there are a lot of crowded places and busy streets. Alongside the same busy streets, you will find totally empty streets filled with trash with nobody in sight. We didn’t see any unpleasant events or people. It’s just that it’s a different feeling that can feel uneasy for some people.
The next days we took a ferry to visit Ischia Island and Procida. Both are fantastic in their own way. I would say that Procida is more secluded with interesting architecture that is a must-see. While in Ischia, you can spend several days lounging on the beaches or just shopping. Here is where some portions of the film The talented MR Ripley were filmed.

Check out this sunset in Procida 😀
An excellent last night dinner in this city, Naples, historic center was the perfect way to end this awesome trip.
If I were to give a personal rating and what is most memorable to all the places we’ve visited, it would be so:
- Capri – Best views and boat ride around the island
- Positano – Best vibe, great food and Instagram photos
- Sorrento – Touristy, good views and vibe
- Pompeii – Historic attraction that is a must see
- Amalfi, Furore – Great gellato and beaches
- Procida – Nice architecture and food
- Naples – Good food, though experiencing the unique atmosphere might not be for everyone
- Ischia – Nice beaches, lots of shops for souvenirs
- Ravello – Nice views from the top but the road up there can be difficult
- Vico Equense – not much to see but it can be nice to walk around
I would definitely visit the Amalfi Coast again in the near future. It is a place that can’t be missed and must be experienced by everyone if they have a chance. And if they have the budget of course.
