Just came back earlier this week from a short city break in Paris, the French Capital, and from exploring France. My wife wanted to surprise me with a nice birthday party. Since neither of us has been to Paris before, we decided it would be a good time to go.
We booked a flight to Beauvais Airport (since Wizzair doesn’t land at CDG) at the end of January. From there we took the bus to the center of Paris (Porte Maillot). Then, we took the metro from there to Invalides station, which was close to our hotel – Hôtel Saint Dominique.
The area we stayed in was one of the best in Paris I might add (7th arrondissement) with lots of coffee shops, nice restaurants and cool views of the Eiffel Tower. Moreover, France has so many wonderful spots to explore.

Since we only had 3 full days to take advantage of what Paris had to offer, we immediately went to Hotel des Invalides to see the Army museum and Napoleon’s tomb. It was very interesting.

After seeing the amazing museum, we went to the Notre-Dame Cathedral to see the sights.

Very impressive and actually, the area surrounding the Cathedral and the 3rd arrondissement was one of my favorite places in Paris. Furthermore, the restaurants, cafes, people, vibe and nightlife seemed very friendly and exactly what you expect when walking around the center Paris at night.

We ate dinner at a place called Pizza Wawa, highly recommend it. (over 10k ratings – 4.5 our of 5 stars).
Two other important landmarks we wanted to see that night were the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the Moulin Rouge Theater. Taking the metro to Château Rouge was the easiest way to get there. If you enjoy sightseeing, France has endless opportunities.
Walking towards the Basilica, we stumbled upon some familiar stairs (if you ever seen John Wick 4, you recognize them).

At the top, there was a street musician that although didn’t have the best voice, he was so funny and memorable. He would bring a smile on your face and boost your morale :D. Additionally, he sang Gala – Freed from Desire and Taylor Swift – Shake It Off in a way that stuck with you!

The views from up here were amazing! Definitely worth it!
We actually missed another landmark that was close by (La Maison Rose). However, I guess we will check it out next time we come to Paris. France always has more to discover!

Next time, we will also definitely buy tickets to a cabaret show!
Heading back to our hotel to get some rest so we have the energy for the next day visits – Louvre Museum, Orsay Museum, Eiffel Tower and others.
